Make you way through a haunted, badly lit, and really really creepy dungeon using only a map and a broken lighter to find your direction #First person horror #FPS horror #Horror game #FPS #Horror #Permadeath
Dungeon Nightmares II is a FPS horror game in which you take on the role of a young woman named Mary and try to find your way through a creepy and bad lit dungeon.
This is a game that will definitely make you forget about everything around and will immerse you in a very unpredictable and scary environment, provided that you use high-quality headphones, which we highly recommend, by the way.
First off, Dungeon Nightmares II ticks all the right boxes for an adventure horror game: we have pitch black rooms, dim lighting, limited amount of light at your disposal, lots of squeaky metal doors, skeletons, spooky pictures on the walls, torture tools laying around, which all add to one tense and creepy atmosphere.
The whole experience is greatly intensified by the fact that you only get mere fractions of a second of light thanks to your lighter that can only produce sparks without really being able to light a flame.
Another worth mentioning feature is the fact that Dungeon Nightmares II uses procedurally generated levels, which means that every time you will play the game, at least the position of individual world elements will be different.
But, by far the best thing about Dungeon Nightmare II is the quality of the sound effects. We would argue that the superbly generated and crisp sounds make up for more than half of the scary experience.
With close-to-realistic voices, whispers, squeaks and other object interaction sounds, Dungeon Nightmare II is a game that deserves to be played at least for this fact alone.
Yes, Dungeon Nightmare II is far from perfect and yes, the game is currently in a very early development stage, so room for improvement still exist, especially in the visuals department.
But, as it is right now, it is without doubt one of the most intense and terrifying games you will ever play and we would go out on a limb here and say that you will enjoy it, regardless of you being a fan of the genre or not.
