KiGB is a smooth-running and quite user friendly OS X emulator for the Nintendo Gameboy and Gameboy color devices.

Moreover, the KiGB app features a streamlined user interface designed to get you playing various Gameboy games in no time and enjoying high-quality sound and accurate emulation with little to no effort at all.

KiGB offers support for both the Game Shark and Game Genies cheat systems that can help you get past various levels in different games.

As an added bonus, while using KiGB to play a large assortment of Gameboy games on your Mac, you will also be able to open and start them via the File menu, as well as pause the entire app when you need to take a quick break.

You can easily Freeze or defrost the game state in order to save and resume your game sessions by accessing the Options menu.

The Game Genie and Game Shark dialogs will help you enter and enable a total of 24 codes, 12 for each system.

KiGB also makes it possible to easily set the frame rate and display its value in the right corner of the emulation screen.

On top of that, KiGB is also designed to help you effortlessly adjust the game speed to perfectly match the game's audio track.

As a supplementary benefit, KiGB users have the option to simulate the LCD colors and motion blur if they access the Emulator tab under the Preferences window.

By the same token and from the same window, KiGB allows you to configure the keyboard layout according to your preferences with just a few mouse clicks.

In a nutshell, KiGB is the Mac application you need if you want to give a spin to the Gameboy games you were playing in your childhood on your state-of-the-art Mac computer.

What's new in KiGB 2.0.5:

  • Fixed issue where battery backed RAM was being saved to the freeze states folder and thus could be overwritten by doing a quick freeze. Thanks to Andrew Hesford for the report.
  • Updated to shell version 2.3.
