Heroes of Umbra For Mac

Heroes of Umbra is a free and multiplatform 2D side-scroller game with role-playing elements. The game is heavily inspired by classic console games, such as Castlevania and Mario, which requires a lot of jumping on platforms and killing two-dimensional creatures.

The storyline is simple, yet intriguing. You can play a custom character who used to hunt down enemies on his home planet, Odorus. As a bringer of justice, your goal was to restore balance and harmony to your beloved world.

After given a mission to deal with The Apprentice, an assassin who must be stopped before doing greater damage, you have been stranded on an unknown island. You are struck by amnesia; therefore, you do not remember what you were set to do. With unfinished business left untreated, you are determined to finish your mission.

Heroes of Umbra supports both single-player and multi-player modes (via LAN). Thus, you can play the campaign by yourself or with your friends. Heroes of Umbra features various outdoor and indoor pixelated worlds with day and night environments.

Some gameplay elements include leveling up, health pool, attributes (power, stamina and wisdom), various keybindings and abilities to increase health, jump and attack. Level experience is determined by the amount of enemies you kill; with each level, you gain 2 stat points and 1 skill point that you should allocate from an in-game menu.

From the game HUD, you can view your character’s HP and experience, level number, the special abilities and even a map that helps you easily navigate the world. You can customize your character by changing its name, skin color, hairstyle and gender.

All things considered, Heroes of Umbra is a modern rendition of classic Super Mario style 2D platformers. You can make progress in level and attributes and explore different fantasy worlds by jumping on platforms. Although incomplete, the game shows great potential and is under active development.
