Company of Heroes Complete: Campaign Edition for Mac
Historically accurate strategy games are the delight of frantic tactical gamers, since they place any player in the situation of changing historical events or recreate them entirely. WWII themed strategy games are quite popular, but maybe the most popular among them is Company of Heroes, a title that appeared back in 2006 and surprised gamers with the great graphics, the emphasis on realism and great multiplayer.
Company of Heroes Complete: Campaign Edition includes, obviously, only the singleplayer mode for the strategy hit, and allows you to play the invasion of Normandy and other famous battles that took place during World War 2.
The game also provides a skirmish mode that allows you to test your strength against the AI in battles which may include up to 7 different computer players. Company of Heroes Complete: Campaign Edition brings 50 different maps that you can choose from, so there's a lot of replayability if you like the skirmish mode.
Company of Heroes Complete: Campaign Edition can be purchased from the Mac App Store for 19.99$. I think that the price is a little high, mainly because you're not getting access to the multiplayer mode that made the game famous in the first place.
Company of Heroes's graphics are some of the best you'll see in a strategy game, and that tells a lot about a 7 years old game. Explosions are spectacular, animations are well made and the overall experience is very realistic, making it just a blast to play.
During the battles you will be able to control tanks, airplanes and infantry units. You can also place new buildings and recruit new units, in an effort to expand your territory and ultimately lead your nation to victory.
To sum up, Company of Heroes Complete: Campaign Edition is one of the best strategy games you can play on a Mac. It has great graphics, amazing soundtrack and enough content to keep you playing for more than 30-40 hours. I definitely recommend it, even if it lack the multiplayer component.
