Being able to manage your money efficiently is essential if you are looking to stay away from financial problems. Monthly Expenses is a Mac app designed to help you track all your expenses, set up realistic budgets and have a clear view on your spending patterns.

Monthly Expenses provides support for multiple users, so you will be able to monitor the financial activity of your entire family and even the payments related to your office, for example. What’s more, Monthly Expenses allows you to use multiple accounts for each user.

The application comes with a light design and has its main window separated in three sections: the left panel displays the app’s tools in list form, the middle area displays the content of each entry, while the right side tab allows you to manage the visible tags (the user name represents the tag).

Even though you can resize the app’s main window, you cannot adjust the proportion of each section. This is extremely inconvenient because the Tag panel takes up a lot of space without displaying useful information.

In addition, the Monthly Expenses interface cannot be personalized in any way. Since the font size used is quite large, some users might enjoy at least minimal customization options.

However, finding your way around the application is quite straightforward: the Daily Expenses panel allows you to add either income or expenses details, to any of the defined users, in no time. The entry can retain info about the payment method, the account used, the expense / income category and the transfered amount.

Monthly Expenses will automatically backup your data locally each time you launch the application, but you can also choose to perform the backups manually, Moreover, Monthly Expenses offers you the possibility to export your database to CSV, TXT or PDF documents.

To sum up, Monthly Expenses enables you to monitor the income / expenses balance for multiple users that have various accounts: this way, you will be able to make informed decisions regarding your own or your family’s finances.
