Coinbase is a financial wallet service that makes it possible for its users to buy, sell, receive, send and store “bitcoin”.

Coinbar is a straightforward and unobtrusive application that provides you with a quick view over your Coinbase account. In other words, Coinbar enables you to stay up-to-date with the spot ratings and  buying and selling prices on Coinbase.

Evidently, in order to use Coinbar, you will have to log in with a valid Coinbase account and authorize the application to access your account and view your balance, your basic account information and your transaction history.

Once this is done, you will now have instant access to information such as buying prices, selling prices and the total amount of money you have in your account with a single click on its status bar item.

One of the most important features is the fact that Coinbar will alert you regarding the most important updates via Notification Center notifications. Another useful function is the fact that you can create custom notifications for when the spot rate drops below or rises above a certain number.

In order to do that, you must simply open the application’s Preferences menu, go to the Notifications tab, and click the plus button from the lower left corner of its window.

Within the General tab, you can easily set up the application to start at system login, to show decimals and the currency symbols, to update at intervals from 30 seconds to one hour, and, of course, to choose a Coinbase supported currency.

Taking all of the above into consideration, if you are a Coinbase user, then Coinbar should definitely be present on your Mac’s menubar, as it is very unobtrusive, lightweight, and easy to use.
