The Internet is full of free books. But who has time to search for them? Let Voluminous bring the books to you. Voluminous will find, download and organise a great library. Buy now, and access hundreds of years of classic literature. Take the free trial and see what's on offer.
The Catalogue
The catalogue currently has over 20,000 books in it - fiction, reference works, poetry, famous speeches, and more. New books are being added all the time, and every week Voluminous checks to see what's out there. There's no need for you to do anything - new books just turn up like magic!
Of course, if you're anxious to see what's new, you can browse the latest additions to the catalogue, and search that list too, to see if new books have arrived from your favorite author.
About 85% of the books are in English, but the rest are in a range of the world's languages. Voluminous usually only shows you the books in your own language, but you can switch to any other language in the catalogue, or display all books regardless of the tongue they're written in.
Finding Books
A wall of 20,000 books could be intimidating. Fortunately, Voluminous helps you find your way around. You can search the catalogue for authors or book titles, and there's also a "topic browser" that shows you only the books filed under the topics you choose, from Architecture to Zoology.
Also, there is a list of starting points to help new users get the hang of finding books. Each of these covers a famous author, a particularly well-known book, or a theme. When you select one, it fills in the search for you, so you not only find the book, but also learn how to search for similar items in future.
Reading Aids
All the books you've downloaded are kept to one side so you can quickly find them again. Those you've actually started reading are kept at the top, and those you've finished are pushed to the bottom. Each book remembers where you'd got to, down to the nearest paragraph, so you can pick it up and start reading right away, without having to hunt through to find your place.
Voluminous normally shows you the book right in the main window, so you can resize it to suit your needs. If you're reading before bedtime and your eyes are just tired, tap the full-screen button to take over the whole display with your book.
Sharing Books
When you find a book you like, you can pick "Tell a friend" and send its details to someone by email. If you select part of the book first, that text will be sent along as an excerpt. If they have Voluminous installed already, they can simply click a special link1 inside the email, and they'll be taken straight to the book you recommended.

What's New in This Release: [ read full changelog ]
· Just a small update, mostly Fixamatron stuff, but we also fixed a couple of small bugs and added a new feature: My Bookshelf.
· When you click My Bookshelf, it filters the book catalogue down to just the books you have in your collection — the same list normally shown in the sidebar, but whereas the sidebar is arranged to bring the books you're currently reading to the top, My Bookshelf works the same way the catalogue normally does, so you can look up specific titles or just browse your personal collection by author, subject, etc.
