Description

PsyScope X has been developed at Carnegie Mellon by Jonathan Cohen, Matthew Flatt, Brian MacWhinney and Jefferson Provost for Mac OS 9 in the '90s. Thanks to its creators, its code has been made public, under the GNU GPL license.

PsyScope is an application that runs on Apple Macintosh computers and is used to design and run psychological experiments, by many experimental labs.

PsyScope X has been ported to OS X by the SISSA Language, Cognition and Development Lab, thanks to a collective effort to which several labs kindly contributed.

The current version of PsyScope X is an universal program. It runs natively on Intel processors, as well as on on PowerPc machines. Psyscope X can allow you to have a control on several kinds of stimuli (movies, sounds) that other commercal programs running on other platforms cannot give you.

What's new in PsyScope X Build 77:

Added a TobiiPlus Module to handle Tobii eye trackers.
Added a new module to handle EGI NetStation machines, supporting TCP/IP commu- nication, and synchronization with the MAC server via NTP.
Added indirect support for pictures of type PNG, TIFF and Jpeg. The pictures are converted to PICT at runtime, during ITI. The conversions use ImageMagick, which is now added to the project. Notice that the PICT format files remain the fastest to load.
Changed the way PICT files are recognized. Now the file extension is not necessary. Identification occurs by decoding specific field in the header/body content. The function which does the job has been adapted from ImageMagick.
