Part of the New Notes suite for learning basic piano skills, the New Notes - Basic Reading OS X application can help you memorize the name of each musical note and its placement on the keyboard.

To help you get started, New Notes - Basic Reading comes with built in treble and bass clef lessons so you will be able to start practicing in no time. The app will display the note on the cleft and you must input the correct sound by using your mouse on the virtual keyboard, by typing on your computer’s keyboard, or by tapping the note on your MIDI keyboard.

New Notes - Basic Reading can display treble and bass guides to help you identify the note, but can also highlight the correct note on the virtual keyboard. While you are practicing, New Notes - Basic Reading records your performance, and you get to view the statistics on the right side of the app’s main window.

You have the option to generate as many lessons as you like, using different notes while changing the clef. The app allows you to preview the result and delete selected notes before starting the training session.
