Just Translate For Mac

Being able to quickly translate text from one language to another is extremely useful whenever you want to learn more about different cultures. Just Translate is a simple Mac OS X app that uses the Google Translate engine to help you perform automatic translations between over 50 different languages.

Even though all the details are adjusted via the Just Translate main window, the actual transformation is performed by the Google Translate engine. As a result, you must always have a working internet connection to be able to use the Just Translate application.

The Just Translate main window is separated in two different text areas, one for the source language, and the other for the resulted content. On top of each area you are able to select the language you want to use via an easy to use drop down menu.

Via the “Languages” menu, you can quickly switch between languages by selecting the source language first, and then choosing the language for the translation. In some cases, Just Translate also provides support for transliteration (check the appropriate box placed on top of the results text area).

To be able to send text from any application to Just Translate for processing, the application provides a contextual menu that must be activated via the Keyboard panel in the System Preferences: navigate to the “Shortcuts” tab and check the appropriate box. Note that the service also comes with a hotkey that can be easily personalized.

Just Translate is a great tool to have around if you need to translate text between different languages by using the Google Translate service. The app provides spell checking support, allows you to save or print the results and more.
