French FlashCards For Mac

French FlashCards is an extensive macOS application designed to help you learn French through 4 different types of exercises. However, the greatest benefit of the app is that it provides over 4400 French words which are sorted in groups, also called wordfiles.

Users can take each wordfile and solve exercises using the included words. The following exercises are available: Word, Meaning, Spelling and Listening. In the first, you must choose the correct translation of a random French word (included in the selected wordfile) from a list of 5 English words.

The second activity is similar to the first, only that the languages are inverted. In the third activity, you must use your French spelling skills and find the translation of English words, and then type the French counterpart.

Finally, the fourth exercise puts your listening skills to the test. You hear native pronunciations of French words, translate the word in your mind and choose the correct answer from a list of 5 English words.

A total of 98 wordfiles are available and cover diverse subjects, such as days of the ewek, food, colors, numbers, animals, time, alphabet, various phrases and parts of speech including nouns and verbs. Also, wordfile are downloaded from the web, so you must be connected to the Internet first.

In addition to this, you can also create your own custom wordfile. This is done by specifying a name, words, French and English translations and the word mode. What’s more, a search function helps you find words across all downloaded wordfiles.

On the whole, French FlashCards is quite a powerful learning tool for users who want to improve their French. It offers 4 different exercises that test your vocabulary, spelling and listening skills, as well as a comprehensive number of word groups organized by category.
