Helps you study on your Mac using virtual flash cards that contain just titles and definitions and can be viewed in full-screen mode
Just like many other Mac apps, FlashBox keeps it minimal when it comes to user interface. As soon as you launch the app, you will see a pane where you can create and view your flashcards in a list, the Preview button and the main flashcard area.
Furthermore, creating a flashcard is an incredibly easy task. Just click the “plus’ sign to create a new flashcard entry, give it a name and the definition or description. If you are used with working with the TAB button to switch fields, you can use it in FlashBox, too, for the same purpose.
The Preview button can be used to show and hide the definition. Normally, while studying definitions of something, you check the name of the concept first, think about its definition and then view the description you have added in the flashcard.
It is that simple to create and use flashcards. Another benefit of using the application is the support for the full-screen mode that eliminates all distractions and helps you focus solely on the content. Note that this feature is supported only on OS X 10.7 or later.
To sum things up, the FlashBox app offers a straightforward software solution for creating basic flashcards on your Mac. Although the feature set is quite thin, the app can be pretty efficient thanks to its intuitive workflow and ease of use. Additionally, you can even save flashcards and use them later.
