English-Urdu Dictionary For Mac

English-Urdu Dictionary is a self-explanatory Mac OS X application that enables you to quickly and effortlessly find and translate words from English into Urdu from within an intuitive interface.

Urdu is a standardized register of the Hindustani language and it has been associated with the Muslims of the Hindustan region and, it is also the national language, as well as lingua franca of Pakistan and the official language of six Indian states.

English-Urdu Dictionary comes in handy when learning Urdu words or if you just want to translate English words. From English-Urdu Dictionary’s main window you can easily find the desired word thanks to the built-in search form.

What is more, English-Urdu Dictionary allows you to search Urdu words and translate them into English as well. You can use the same search form to type the Urdu word and view the translation in the left panel. The Urdu-English translate system might prove to be counter intuitive since the search word appears in the right panel, where the translation should appear.

The switch between the two dictionaries can be performed from the top toolbar that also enables you to access the Preferences slide sheet and close the app. You can also customize the top toolbar and add or remove items with ease.

English-Urdu Dictionary automatically keeps a record of your search words and allows you to browse through it the Goto menu. Unfortunately, English-Urdu Dictionary does not allow you to view the entire list and select a word, you have to jump from one word to another using the predefined keyboard shortcuts.

Thanks to the Preferences slide sheet, you can change the font and adjust its size, modify the spacing and line height. You can also customize English-Urdu Dictionary’s behavior and make it the default configuration.
