Araby is a simple and lightweight application designed for users that want to learn a foreign language such as Arabic or Persian language. The application can also be used by Arabic speaking users that want to learn English.

Thanks to Araby you can quickly and effortlessly look up and search words in bilingual dictionaries by simply typing the desired word into the built-in search form. A list with all the words starting with the typed letters will be automatically displayed in the left panel of the application. The list will gradually become smaller as you type the entire word, allowing you to find the term you are looking for.

The translation of the word is displayed in the right panel from which you can access the Wiktionary, place a bookmark and play the audio with American or Saudi Arabia pronunciation.

You can change the type of the used dictionary from the bottom of the left page; the drop-down menu helps you switch between the English to Arabic, Arabic to English, Persian to Arabic and Arabic to Persian dictionary.

Araby comes with a well-designed interface that mimics an open dictionary and from which you can search over 200.000 words. What is more, Araby features an English thesaurus thanks to which you can find synonyms and related concepts.

Bookmarks is another great feature provided by Araby. Every time you find a word that you want to learn or remember you can bookmark it and view it later in the Bookmarks window.

By accessing the Bookmarks window, you can view the list with all the bookmarked words and sort it based on the words, on their language or definition.
