pnm2ppa is an open-source printer driver that operates as a filter for Ghostscript. The driver currently supports 6 printers. On Mac OS X, printing with pnm2ppa requires Ghostscript, an open-source PostScript interpreter.
The pnm2ppa package supports printers that use the proprietary PPA (Printing Performance Architecture) protocol developed by Hewlett Packard.
There is no need to install the same version of Ghostscript more than once, but if you have never installed it then please download and run the Ghostscript installer before the pnm2ppa installer.
After the pnm2ppa installation is complete open Printer Setup Utility (Print Center in Jaguar) and just follow the easy set up.
Installation Notes: Users upgrading from the previous package should simply install the new package; no further action should be required. The new installer will remove any obsolete files from the previous package and should automatically update any existing printer queues.
The pnm2ppa installer for Mac OS X ncludes support for 6 printers.
