Unobtrusive utility for adjusting the mouse behavior
Even though the SteerMouse modifications are applied system wide, the application works in the background and does not make its presence known without the user express request. Via the System Preferences pane though, you can easily launch the app’s main window and perform various performance modifications.
Noteworthy is that you also have the opportunity to use different mouse settings for specific applications. All you have to do is add the target application to the preset list, and then make the necessary adjustments. Of course, SteerMouse also retains a default preset that applies for the entire system.
Effortlessly customize the mouse buttons, the cursor sensitivity, or the scrolling speed
The SteerMouse customization capabilities are organized in 4 main tabs: Buttons, Wheel, Tilt Wheel, and Cursor. This way, in the first panel you get to quickly change the action triggered by each mouse button: input shortcut key, scroll action, cursor action, switch application, click action, open, Mission Control, or no action.
The same actions can be triggered by different wheel movements, including tilting. Last but not least, you get to change the wheel scrolling speed, but also the cursor tracking speed or sensitivity.
Unsophisticated yet powerful utility for personalizing your mouse behavior
SteerMouse is a great tool to have around if you are looking for a way to trigger specific actions by using a mouse. The application is able to work with mouse devices connected via USB or by using Bluetooth, but keep in mind that the Apple Magic Mouse and the Magic Trackpad are not supported.
