Nvidia Quadro & GeForce Driver For Mac

If your Mac Pro model allows you to upgrade your graphics card, NVIDIA provides various models designed to fulfill different types of requirements.

Once the graphics card is in place, you should install the Nvidia Quadro & GeForce Driver software to take advantage of everything it has to offer. However, you can also use it with the default OS X Graphics Driver.

The Nvidia Quadro & GeForce Driver package comes with its own installer that will determine if the software is compatible with your current architecture. If all conditions are met, all you have to do is follow the on screen instructions.

Besides the actual driver, the installer also places an optional menu in your status bar designed to provide quick access to frequently used functions, and a System Preferences pane that includes different customization options.

Right off the bat, the Nvidia Quadro & GeForce Driver pane enables you to quickly decide which driver you want to employ: the default OS X Graphics Driver, or the NVIDIA Web Graphics Driver.

Moreover, if your graphics card model is supported, you get to easily enable the Error Correction Codes (ECC). Last but not least, you can check if there are any software updates, so you will always have access to the most recent driver software.

Even if you can employ the default OS X Graphics Driver, installing the Nvidia Quadro & GeForce Driver is recommended if you want to take full advantage of all the cards capabilities. Noteworthy is that, if you encounter any issue, you can clear your Mac’s NVRAM and the system will reboot and restore the original drivers.
