Quod Libet is an audio player application for macOS that has been developed in Python and is using the GTK+ toolkit for the graphical user interface.
Quod Libet also integrates the Mutagen library that enables you to add metadata to your tracks.
Within the Quod Libet main window you get to organize your music library any way you like, by creating playlist or by adding various tags to your music files.
Since the Quod Libet app can handle uncommon tags, it can prove to be extremely versatile when dealing with classical music tracks.
Quod Libet also includes standard playback functions, and it can even deal with podcasts and internet radios.
Also worth mentioning is that Quod Libet can remember play counts and song ratings, allows you to download lyrics from online sources, and enables you to view album artwork.
Quod Libet is able to work with most popular audio file formats, such as MP3, MIDI, FLAC, Ogg, Musepack, MPEG-4 AAC, MOD/XM/IT, Wavpack, WMA, or Monkey’s Audio.
As an added bonus, Quod Libet can be used to manage audio libraries of thousands of tracks, and it comes with support for advanced tag editing, as well as playing Internet radio stations and podcasts.
