Cactus 1.1.6 Build 428
An efficient and modern OS X app for web developers designed to help you create, preview and publish websites using a wide range of tools
The application comes with features such as auto-reloading, cloud hosting, local web servers, CSS preprocessors, CoffeeScript support, as well as template engines that work out of the box and allow you to deploy, preview and publish a site with minimum effort.
Using Cactus is extremely simple. From the minimalist user interface, you can create a new site (from scratch or use one of the 3 predefined templates) and then deploy it to a custom location. Also, you can edit the website folder in your favorite editor and preview the site in the local web server with one click.
Furthermore, you can create and work with multiple sites at once. The optimal workflow consists of working with both the browser and the 3rd party editor at the same time. As you make modifications to the code, the site will auto-refresh itself in the browser.
Another benefit consists of immediately deploying your site to an existing Amazon S3 account by entering the access key, secret key and bucket name in the setup window. This type of hosting is quick, low-cost and trustworthy. What’s more, Cactus can even automatically set up your name server after you define the domain name.
All in all, the Cactus app is a reliable and highly effective static website generator and publisher with support for external editors and live previewing. The app comes with a straightforward workflow and a user-friendly interface suitable for all types of users.
