NPS is a content management system that allows you to manage your website by using a browser. NPS is a web application developed using Java and Oracle and is using a central server to make the adjustments.

To use NPS you need access to a ORACLE and TOMCAT servers that are configured properly. You can find indications on how to set up each server in the NPS documentation.

The next step is to open the {$NPS_HOME}/web/WEB-INF/db.xml and make the neccesary configurations to connect to the databases. You can choose one of the three available options: Configuration without connection pool, Configuration with Oracle’s connection pool or Configuration with external data source.

Once NPS is properly installed and set up, you will be able to access its capabilities via your default web browser. You will be able to create use accounts, configure departments or view your staff.

NPS allows you to become your own website administrator and deal with the website’s deployment(distributing the front WEB server) and management.

You will be able to organize your website’s topics: you can create new articles or rearrange old ones, choose to have post published automatically or have them verified by a moderator and much more.

NPS comes with a collection of templates and allows you to use the ANT and ANTLR technology to connect to your ORACLE database, extract the information and convert it to HTML pages. As a result you can create and manage websites without having to deal with programming.
