visural-common is a free, open-source, general purpose Java library with various "odds and ends" utilities including.

visural-common is a cross-platform utility capable of running on any operating system that comes with Java support (e.g. Mac OS X, Windows, Linux).

Main features:

  • An AOP caching solution for Guice based projects
  • A 301 Redirect Servlet Filter (permanent redirect) filter for Java web apps
  • A runtime class path scanner, which can look for classes matching certain superclass, interfaces, annotations, etc.
  • Base64 encoder/decoder
  • CSV reading/writing with integrations to database tables
  • A HTML "sanitizer" (i.e. to clean HTML of malicious content)
  • A "Resource Transform Filter", which does automatic LessCSS compilation, DataURI/MHTML image inlining and CSS/Javascript compression for web applications
