cmd c is a clipboard manager designed to meet the needs of code developers: it will preserve the text formatting, allows you to navigate its history using the keyboard, and even keeps windows in memory for 5 minutes.
cmd c is a status bar menu application, and you can activate its panel from the menu or by using a hotkey (the app provides four keyboard shortcut options via the Preferences, and you can specify the one you want active).
Worth mentioning is that cmd c launches its panel as a separate window that stays on top of all windows and cannot be moved around or resized.
Other customization options include the possibility to clean up the history daily instead of hourly, to disable the keyboard navigation, or the automate pasting to the current application.
If you add cmd c to the list of apps that can control your computer, you can also use the cmd+f events function, which means that the app will monitor the system for cmd+c events which translates into fewer required resources although some clippings might go unrecorded.
Within the cmd c main panel, you get to see the most recent clippings and mark any of them as links or code snippets. The respective entries will also be included in the links and snippets tabs so that you can access them faster.
If you click on any cmd c entry, the app will paste the content in the current app using the original formatting and also hides the clipboard manager. When dealing with URLs, cmd c will launch the links in your default web browser.
Note the cmd c cleans up its history daily and will preserve only the last 50 items. However, the items marked as code snippets will remain in the app at all times. Of course, you can manually remove any of the clippings.
cmd c is a small yet powerful clipboard manager that tries to be more programmer friendly: the app preserves the content formatting, it can recognize and launch links, and you can keep code snippets indefinitely.
