TigerVNC For Mac

Mac OS X comes with the default Screen Sharing application that can be used to connect to and control remote computers via VNC, but you can always opt for alternative solutions.

TigerVNC is a VNC client that focuses on high performance and allows you to run video apps or to visualize 3D representations on the remote side without any limitations.

Within the TigerVNC connection window, you must provide the address of the VNC server and then just press the Connect button. Note that you need to provide the user’s password for the remote machine to complete the procedure.

TigerVNC will display the desktop of the remote computer in a separate window that can be easily resized, or you can opt to switch to full-screen mode.

TigerVNC allows the user to interact with the remote desktop using the mouse and keyboard on the client side and even comes with support for keyboard shortcuts while in full-screen mode.

By default, TigerVNC encrypts your connections using the TLS standard, but via the Options panel you can either disable the function or choose to provide custom X509 CA certificates. The same area allows you to choose the authentication methods that are to be used.

TigerVNC also enables you to define a default resizing pattern for the screen when launching a new session, or to adjust the compression levels. Other options include the possibility to share the remote screen with other users.

TigerVNC is able to establish a connection between your Mac and a remote machine and packs efficient management capabilities, including the ability to sync the clipboard content between workstations.

You can also set up TigerVNC to pass the system keys directly to the server and change the assigned menu key.

Note that TigerVNC also provides support for connecting in View Only mode, which means that the mouse and clipboard will be completely ignored.
