The problem ShoutFood solves is as simple as ubiquitous. ShoutFood is a client intended to alert others in the office/hackerspace when someone opens mjam.at in their browser to order food (so everyone can participate in the food run).
The ShoutFood client runs as a Mac OS X status item. Every minute, mjam.net is polled in order to check whether a group order link from the same IP (i.e. from someone in the same NATed network) exists.
If a link exists, a Growl notification is sent and when the notification is clicked, a web browser tab with the link to the group order is opened.
