Screentaker is an intuitive Mac OS X developer tool that provides a straightforward method to create and edit screenshots of your iOS applications. Basically, it allows you to capture snapshots directly from the iOS Simulator app and apply effects to them.

The app features a basic-looking user interface to which you can drag and drop your screenshot, after which it opens in a separate window where you can select the device, orientation, status bar and effect. Also, Screentaker is able to automatically detect your device and its orientation by default.

It also includes a preview window to check the changes in realtime. Another option is to capture screenshots directly from iOS simulator. Of course, first you need to open iOS simulator and go to the part of your app you want to snapshot. Screentaker also includes the ability to download / install new effects or to create your own.

Overall, Screentaker is really easy to operate and comes with a very intuitive window. All options are laid out in a straightforward fashion and you can use multiple effects, choose the appropriate device type, orientation and status bar. If you are looking for a basic iOS screenshot editing tool, you might want to take a closer look at Screentaker.
