What's new in SciTE 3.5.4:

  • This release improves Asian character input. With Japanese, for example, the Reverse Conversion, Convert to Related Character, and Search Similar Kanji commands can now be performed. The standard system hot key ^⌘D and the equivalent three finger tap gesture can now be used to show the definition window.

If you are looking for a versatile and powerful development environment that enables you to edit and process source code and markup language files, then SciTE is the app for you.

SciTE is a highly customizable and extendable source core and markup file editor to which you can easily add all the tools you need.

Lua is a cross-platform and lightweight multi-paradigm programing language that provides a narrow set of general features that can be extended to fit various problems types.

Lua is mainly used as an extension or scripting language and comes with support for only a small number of data structures.

SciTE comes with a user-friendly interface from which you can easily open and edit your projects. What is more, SciTE features a find and replace feature that can help you find and replace code snippets quickly and effortlessly. Moreover, you can export your files along with your highlighting to a various file formats such as LaTex or PDF.

Working with Asia language files in multi-byte encodings such as Shift-JIS is a breeze thanks to SciTE’s ability to natively handle them. Hence, you can avoid file conversions and, at the same time, file corruption. SciTE provides support for numerous languages such as C, C++, HTML, Java, JavaScript, Matlab, R and more.
