Apple’s Podcast Producer is the official go to tool to quickly create podcasts, but that doesn't mean that the job can't be performed successfully by other applications. Podcast Assistant is a small utility that can quickly generate the XML code necessary to publish a new podcast or a podcast episode in no time.

Due to the simple assistant interface, the app's workflow is extremely intuitive and fluid. Simply launch Podcast Assistant and choose your objective: add a new episode to an existing podcast or create a new one.

If you create a new podcast, you must specify its name, add a small subtitle, the author name and the copyright credentials. From the bottom panel you can select the podcast category by using a drop down menu, and choose the language and the content type (non-explicit, explicit or clean).

The next step is to provide the image and page links, a small description and a summary, but also the owner’s details. When you press the "Continue" button from the bottom of the main window, the app will generate the XML file. Although the text fields look quite small, they are able to store a large amount of data.

Of course, you can add new episodes right then and there, by filling similar fields: the title, the subtitle, the author and the content type. Moreover, you must input the file size in bytes, the episode duration, the URL link, the file type, a summary, relevant keywords and the date when it is published.
