Helix RADE (Rapid Application Development Environment) enables the creation, deployment and maintenance of customized solutions to information management problems on the Macintosh platform, via a proprietary graphical development environment that does not require traditional programming skills.
Helix RADE, the development tool, gives the user complete capability to develop applications that can range from a simple, single user, to a complex, multi-user.
You can run applications developed with Helix RADE in single user mode without any additional software, and they can be deployed in client/server mode without modification.Since Helix single user system contains the complete development environment, the initial cost for production software can be very low.
Should the business or application requirement grow, the application can be deployed into the client/server environment by merely purchasing the server and appropriate number of client licenses.
Helix RADE 6.1 Classic is a feature release, primarily focused on Design Mode changes that complement the Mac OS X Helix products. There are a few new features, some specification changes, and a number of bug fixes. Helix RADE 6.1 is still a Classic application, but the new features and changes make working on collections (whether for use with the Mac OS X native Helix products or not) a more productive experience.
Requirements:
· Helix RADE only works in Classic mode.

· The following bugs have been specifically addressed. Remember: Bugs that have an “R-number” are written in the ‘negative’ form, as though the bug still exists. All of these bugs have been fixed.
· R7186: The Trim command now leaves a reasonable margin when trimming page rectangle
· All of the Helix programs are now delivered in simple disk image (.dmg) format. Just open (or ‘mount’) the disk image, agree to the licensing terms, and then drag the Helix application (and utilities) to your Applications folder.
This change addresses these three reports:
· R6958: Enablement Key not Retained
· R6962: Installer messes up Application folder permissions
· R6966: Incorrect permissions on “Helix” folder installed into “Applications”
· Note that this new installer does not remove older versions of Helix in the “Helix” folder within your “Applications” folder. You can delete that folder if you do not need the older versions anymore.
