Using instant messaging clients to communicate with friends over the internet has become a fairly popular practice. As a result, there are several applications out there designed to provide support for this type of activity.

Camfrog is a macOS utility designed to help you communicate by using the Camfrog network. Right off the bat, you must register for an account, free of charge, via the Camfrog app main window. However, keep in mind that you will not have access to the Camfrog Pro capabilities.

When you login to you Camfrog account, you have the option to choose to be signed in automatically, to save your password within the application or to sign in as invisible. You will recognize these are the standard options for most instant messaging solutions.

Finding your way around the Camfrog main window should not be at all problematic: in the top toolbar you can set up your current status (online, away, busy, invisible, privacy and custom), the main area displays your friends list, while the bottom toolbar provide icons for accessing the video chat rooms, the search tools, sending an instant message or adding a new user to the contacts list.

Via the Camfrog Preferences window you can decide when you should receive notifications, adjust the icons sizes, toggle the sound effects, set up privacy protection boundaries, manage your visible and blocked users lists, tune your video and audio capturing devices, set up parental restrictions and more.

Camfrog is offering quick access to basic instant messaging capabilities and proves to be an extremely easy to use application. If you like to have access to more advanced functions, such as being able to send files or to open multiple video windows, you must register for a Camfrog Pro account.
