icXL is a program for viewing and using files saved in the new Excel 2007 default format, xlsx, in the legacy Excel 97-2003 format, xls or in the AppleWorks/ClarisWorks spreadsheet format cwk.

icXL will display the the original Excel spreadsheet's entire contents including multiple worksheets. It is a "text only" readable solution, as it shows the value of the cells with the proper formatting but does not allow changing the content of the cells and gives only the results of the formulas but not the formulas themselves.

When a virus is hidden within an Excel spreadsheet, it is activated via a macro (a series of commands that automate tasks) embedded in the document. Since icXL does not execute any macros, you may use icXL without fear of infection, even if the original Excel spreadsheet contains a virus.

Limitations:

· The demo version of icXL converts only a portion of the original spreadsheet file. The last row of the converted file indicates that the conversion is partial and mentioned that some rows are missing.
