VPN Shield is a free application for Mac OS X that enables you to securely connect to the VPN Shield service or use your own VPN network. The application is designed to protect your online privacy by warning you which Wi-Fi hotspots are unsafe or which connections are unprotected.
Although the VPN Shield client is free, you must purchase a subscription in order to connect to the VPN Shield service or activate a 1-day free trial. The following paid subscriptions are available: 7-day, 30-day, 90-day or 1 year. However, you are also allowed to enter the connection credentials to a VPN service you are already use.
