QIF Master for Mac
If you need an application that can help you import your investment, credit card or banking transactions into Quicken or other applications with support for QIF files, then QIF Master is the right app for you.
Most credit card companies and online banks provide you with the option to download all your recent transactions that can cover everything from deposits, checks, credit card chargers and other info into a QIF (Quicken interchange Format) file. Consequently, you can import all your transactions into your Quicken account.
However, you might find it difficult to assign custom categories to your transactions and, as a result, you have to manually check each transaction from within Quicken and add new categories. Thanks to QIF Master you can now automate this process and save precious time.
It is worth mentioning that QIF files are not supported by Quicken Essentials For Mac 2010 or later, on the other hand, Quicken for Mac 2007 and earlier, as well as other financial apps, do come with support for QIF files.
QIF, QFX and OFX
What is more, banks and credit card companies also provide transaction histories in the OFX or QFX file format. While the OFX is a open standard format, QFX is a Quicken-specific format. Hence, Quicken import QFX files and match all your transactions with all existing transactions.
Although this feature is useful, you automatically organize all your transactions using QIF Master to convert your QFX or OFX to the QIF format and preserver all added categories. With the help of QIF Master you easily can add Quicken categories based on the transaction description. From QIF Master’s File menu you can convert QIF files, process data from your Mac’s Clipboard and import or export extract format.
Furthermore, QIF Master is capable to extract QIF data from your investment transaction history web page and you can use the file to import data in Quicken. On top of that, QIF Master can process CSV files and convert them to QIF files.
