GPSNavX For Mac

GPSNavX is a versatile Mac application that enables you to use your computer to plan new routes for your boat. If a GPS device is connected to your computer, GPSNavX can update your location on the chart in real time, and keeps track of your route.

By default, GPSNavX comes with a small scale world map, which means that you must import your own marine charts to use the app at its full potential. However, the chart plotting and routes can be exported to KML files, which can be easily visualized in the Google Earth application.

GPSNavX enables you to quickly create waypoints for the locations that interest you, together with any additional information you consider to be relevant. You can take them into consideration when planning routes and GPSNavX will display the distance between consecutive waypoints, but also the total distance.

Besides your current location, GPSNavX is able to display the real time values for different parameters, such as the speed over ground, the course over ground, the bearing at waypoint, the distance at waypoint, the velocity made good, the cross track error, or the time to go.

Moreover, GPSNavX can show information about the heading, speed, temperature, wind angle, depth, or wind speed. As a result, you can plan your trips in no time since all the info is readily available.
