Billings Pro Server is the linchpin of the system. The central point where all the data is gathered and stored in an industrial grade database. All communication to the server is done securely over encrypted connections (SSL).
Billings Pro Server can be installed on any stationary Mac, and doesn't require a networking expert to setup.

Switchboard:
· Switchboard was designed to make the network setup in Billings Pro is effortless.
· No more opening ports, worrying about static IP's, or crawling on the floor in search of your router's model name. Switchboard is the middle-man for your database connection.
· You simply create an account with Switchboard, and provide your employees with a username and password. From there, accessing the database is as easy as logging in to Facebook even though Billings Pro Server is hosted on your premises.
Synchronization:
· Billings Pro features our 4th generation sync technology – technology that is used successfully by thousands of Daylite users all over the world everyday.
· Billings Pro Mac synchronizes automatically in the background every few minutes when the server can be reached. You don't have to think about it or worry whether you have a connection or not. The only time you must have a connection is when you are generating documents (invoices, estimates or statements).
· Billings Pro Touch synchronizes over 3G, EDGE or WiFi using the mobile version of our sync technology – once again used by thousands of Daylite Touch users around the world everyday.
Automatic backups:
· Billings Pro can automatically backup your database every night. You can also choose to manually create a backup whenever necessary.
· While Billings Pro will always ensure your data has been backed up locally, it's a good idea to backup your computer's hard drive elsewhere from time to time (i.e. using an external system).
