Play Movie from URL is a free Automator action that will open the URL from the input and automatically start to play the media file with the VLC media player, in either normal sized or full screen depending on the selected option.

Installation: Download the Automator action. You can either select "Import Action..." from the "File" Menu in Automator and choose the action file or manually move the action file to the Home > Library > Automator folder.
