Audiomaton - Trim, Convert, Amplify, Fade, Compress, Normalize, Split, Merge, Scheduled Recording, and More

Audiomaton is a multi-purpose shareware application program which automates many common digital audio processing tasks.

Audiomaton is designed to help you toquickly and easily amplify the volume of thousands of AIFF files, to convert any number of MP3s or MP4s to Windoze .wav files, or to extract all the 'snd' resources from the resource forks of all the files and applications you drop on Audiomaton's icon.

Audiomaton works as a companion to the popular Macintosh audio editing application program SndSampler. Audiomaton determines which files are to be processed and what is to be done with them.

Then it sends this information to SndSampler, which does most of the actual processing. Please note that in order to take full advantage of Audiomaton, you will need to purchase licenses both for Audiomaton and SndSampler.

Audiomaton can process your audio files in many different ways. Its various functions are separated into four groups, as represented in the application as tabs. Shown below is the Modify tab. With the Modify tab you can modify AIFF, System 7 Sound, Sound Clipping, Sun .au, Windoze .wav, Raw Audio, and other types of files by:
￭ Changing the sample rate, sample bits, or number of channels
￭ Amplifying the audio samples by a user-set percentage (less than 100% makes them quieter)
￭ Normalizing to a user-set percentage
￭ Applying special effects, including Audio Unit effects
￭ Fading in or out any number of seconds
￭ Applying various data compression algorithms such as PureVoice or u-Law to the resultant file
￭ Adding or replacing the file's extension
￭ Taking full of advantage of Mac OS X's 255-character file names (or restrict file names to Classic Mac or DOS length and format)
