Inconspicuous and simple to use menu bar based online radio player that helps you listen to any radio that comes with a web stream
Online radios use a variety of web streaming servers that may be accessed using their Internet stream address. Such streams can be opened and played using applications like miniRadio, which provides a simple yet highly effective ways of managing and listening web radios on a Mac.
miniRadio is a low-key and status bar based application, crested to make it as simple as possible to listen to various web radios and to manage them via a simple interface. Moreover, if you have the stream address for an online radio, you can easily add it to the built-in list via the “Add station” dialog.
miniRadio’s main window allows you to favorite the radios you want to listen to later and to effortlessly find a specific radio using its built-in search engine, or filter them using the three drop-down menus which will allow you choose the country, genre and language of the radios to be displayed.
In addition, miniRadio comes with integrated support for scrobbling the songs you play to your last.fm account and to display visual alerts using OS X’s built-in notification system.
From miniRadio’s status bar, you can quickly get access to your favorite radios, the most recent stations you’ve listened to and the custom stations you’ve added since installing the app on your Mac.
Furthermore, miniRadio also features built0in Notification Center support and, thus, it is capable of displaying the name of the currently playing song, whenever the station you’re listening changes to another track.
