dupeGuru Music Edition is a Mac OS X duplicate finder app designed specifically to handle music collections: it will scan filenames, tags, and content in order to detect duplicate tracks stored in your iTunes Library, or in user selected folders.

Right off the bat, within the dupeGuru Music Edition main window you must select the folders you want the utility to scan. You have the option to adjust the status of each directory: normal, reference, or excluded.

dupeGuru Music Edition will analyze the filenames, tags, content, or audio content in order to identify the duplicate entries. The results will be shown in a separate window, and you will be able to effortlessly manage both the results list and the actual files.

For your convenience, dupeGuru Music Edition allows you to view extensive details about the currently selected track, comes with previewing capabilities, and includes a search bar for filtering the results list. Note that the list can be further customized by adjusting the scanning rules via the dupeGuru Music Edition Preferences.

The next step is to select the entries you want to process, and then choose the appropriate tool from the Settings menu: you can send items to the trash, move or copy them to specific locations, remove entries from the results list, add them to the ignore list, assign reference status, rename the files, or reveal the original file in the Finder.
