djay is a fully-featured macOS application that turns your Mac into a professional Dj system, which you can use to mix songs from your iTunes library using virtual turntables.
Thanks to djay, you can perform live, record your mixes or enable the Automix feature and let the app do the hard work while you take care of your daily tasks. What is more, djay automatically access your iTunes library and offers you access to all your songs and playlists created in iTunes.
Consequently, you have the option to short your music using your playlists or based on Artist, Genre, Album, Key or any other related criteria. Once you found the desired tracks, you just have to drag and drop them onto the virtual turntables and do your magic.
Moreover, djay allows you to relax and listen to your favorite songs by automatically mixing tracks from iTunes while in Automix mode. The Automix Queue allows you to change the track order and add or remove songs from the list.
The on-the-fly beat and tempo detection makes it a breeze to match the BMP of two songs and achieve a seamless transition. On top of that, you are able to capture your live mix and save your performance to high-quality sound files, which you can share with your friends.
Djay features support for multi-touch gestures and, as a result, allows you to control the user-friendly interface using your MacBook trackpad or Magic Trackpad. Use two fingers to scratch the record, move the crossfader and rotate gestures to adjust the 3-band equalizers.
Probably the most important feature offered by djay is the Harmonic Match feature, capable to detect a song’s key, a fact that allows you to find songs of the same key within your library and mix them easier.
The app comes with numerous real-time audio effects that include Flanger, Phaser, Gate, Echo, Bit Crusher, Absorb, Drift and more.
djay also features iCloud integration and support for MIDI controllers, external microphones and pre-cueing. It is also worth mentioning that all your cue points and metadata changes performed on any of the supported devices, are automatically synchronized via iCloud between your Mac, iPad or iPhone.
