cafCONVERTER For Mac

cafCONVERTER is a smooth-running application specially designed to help you convert different types of audio files into Apple’s CAF format.

CAF, short for Core Audio Format, is a straightforward container capable to store audio and overcome the limitations of older digital audio formats such as WAV or AIFF. A CAF container is able to store multiple metadata tracks, audio formats and other useful data. Unlike other digital audio formats, CAF files are not limited to a 4 GB file size and can store large amount of data thanks to the use of 64-bit file offsets.

The lightweight and intuitive application offers a simple and user-friendly interface from which you can easily select the file you need to convert. You can configure cafCONVERTER to output the converted file to the same folder as the source file or to a location of your choice.

Moreover, cafCONVERTER can act as an audio extractor and grab audio from certain video files. cafCONVERTER comes with support for 3GP, AAC, 3G2, ADTS, AIFC, ADTS, AIFF, AMR, AIF, M4A AU, MP1, MPEG, MP3, SND, MP4, WAV, MP2 and SD2 file formats.

Unfortunately, cafCONVERTER does not feature support for batch conversion but, you can upgrade to batchCAF via the Mac App Store in order to take advantage of the batch processing capabilities.

We would appreciate the application even more if cafCONVERTER offered more control over the conversion process and allowed us to manually adjust the quality of the output file.

As it is, cafCONVERTER is a simple and very basic audio converter that provides you an easy solution for converting various audio and video file formats into CAF files.
