Concatenate as many iTunes tracks as you like via a minimalist OS X application that also enables you to attach metadata information. #Merge tracks #Concatenate tracks #Create track #Merge #Concatenate #Track
High-quality tracks can be broken into multiple parts in order to ensure a faster transfer rate between devices. Track Concatenator is a simple OS X utility that enables you to put them together with minimal effort.
To use Track Concatenator, you must first launch the iTunes application and select the audio tracks you want to merge together. The next step is to open the Track Concatenator utility and press the “Get tracks selected in iTunes button.
If the operation is successful, you should see the tracks titles listed in the upper area of the Track Concatenator’s main window. Note that the iTunes tracks order is preserved, and you cannot make any adjustment in that regard in the Track Concatenator app.
Moreover, Track Concatenator requires MP4v2 and FFMPEG to be installed in order to complete the concatenation process. To simplify the software deployment procedure, the developers recommend using the Homebrew package management system.
Track Concatenator automatically adds the new track to your iTunes library, but also gives you the opportunity to attach basic metadata. You can specify the track name, the artist, the album artist, the album name, the composer, the genre, the track and disk number, and the release year.
Track Concatenator can send the table of contents to the Lyrics tag, and allows you to specify if the output track contains music, or if it's an audiobook.
When dealing with MP4 or AAC file, Track Concatenator merges the tracks together without re-encoding, which means that the original quality is preserved. However, other file types are re-encoded, but Track Concatenator makes sure to use the highest bitrate provided by the source audio files.
To conclude, Track Concatenator proves to be an efficient tool for stitching together any number of audio files, although you should keep in mind that it only works with songs that have been imported into your iTunes library.
Moreover, Track Concatenator requires additional software to be installed via the Terminal, which might prove problematic for inexperienced users.
