A lightweight and user-oriented application specially designed to perform four part harmonization in the common practice period style
From Tonalis’ main window you can easily enter your melody using the piano keyboards and use the “Harmonise” feature in order to quickly add notes to your melody and produce harmony. You can easily play your melody, stop it or erase it at any given point.
The Tempo slide sheet helps you change the tempo of your melody while the Key slide sheet helps you choose your Major or Minor key for the entire song. By accessing the Instruments side panel, you can browse through the instruments list, select the desired musical instrument and choose between the Soprano, Alto, Bass and Tenor voice.
Tonalis’ advanced engine is a hybrid between music theory and modern computing and has been carefully researched and tested. Singers and songwriters can rely on Tonalis to help them in their compositional process.
However, Tonalis could be even more useful if it allowed its users to decide which parts of their composition should be harmonized. Also, we would have liked it even more if Tonalis offered support for MIDI files. This feature could ease the creation process, especially when using various Digital Audio Workstations. We hope that Tonalis will also provide support for MIDI keyboards in the future updates, in order to significantly improve the composition experience.
On the other hand, you can listen to your original composition at any time and export them as a PNG image or MIDI file with just a couple of mouse clicks.
