Silenz is a small and low-key macOS app created with one single purpose in mind: to automate the process of pausing music playback or lowering the volume when you need to talk to someone or want to enjoy your tunes while also being aware of the sounds around you.

This being said, if you ever had to continuously pause your favorite music player when someone wanted to speak with you or had to remove the headphones completely, Silenz is the best solution to avoid such situations.

Silenz is designed to allow you to focus on your work while enjoying music, while at the same time being able to keep track of any surrounding sounds or colleagues who want to pick your brain.

Moreover, the Silenz app is capable of automatically controlling your favorite music players' and the system volume, without any intervention on your side.

This means that you will no longer need to adjust your music player's volume when you want to be aware of what's happening around you or when you don't want anything to disturb you and stay focused on the task at hand.

Upon launch, Silenz will display an easy to follow usage tour which makes it quite simple and straightforward to correctly configure the app to mix music and surrounding audio to help you remove distractions or communicate without touching your headphones or the volume controls.

Silenz's status bar menu makes it very easy to select the pass-through mode used to mix surrounding sounds and music, as well as the threshold and gain levels it uses as triggers.

The menu bar item also comes with a Volume Control sub-menu that helps you set up the apps and system volume control levels with the help of two intuitive slider controls.

At the moment, Silenz is capable of controlling the playback of iTunes, Spotify, Deezer (non-beta), VLC, and VOX, the first one being included for free, while the rest you can unlock using the app's In-App Purchase feature.

All things considered, Silenz is the app you want on your Mac if you need to streamline the process of controlling the audio volume of your media players, as well as your Mac's system volume without having to touch your headphones or any volume controllers.
