Recordam is an audio recording tool that tries to make the entire capture and sharing process as seamless as possible. You get to switch between input sources, capture the sound, and then save the content together with additional metadata info using the M4A standard.
Recordam offers you the possibility to manage everything via a minimalist window that switches to different panels depending on the task you want to perform. Note that you can shift between the recording, playback, and library panels by using the View menu, or by relying on the predefined keyboard shortcuts.
Right off the bat, you are invited to start recording, and Recordam allows you to select the audio input device you want to use and adjust the microphone volume. While Recordam captures the audio, you get to monitor both the recording’s length and the size of the output folder.
You can pause the recording process, but once you mark the task as done, you must also provide various details about the capture before saving the track: name, author, subject, year, and associated tags. Recordam will automatically add details about the creation and modification data, size, and duration.
Recordam comes with a built-in audio library that will present all the files captured by the application. You can choose to listen to the audio files within the app, in which case Recordam will provide elementary controls: play and pause, and jump to the next or previous track.
By default, Recordam produces M4A files, but you can also choose to import MP3 files to the library. The Recordam tracks can be exported to the local drive, or you can opt to share them with iTunes, or send them by email, Messages, or AirDrop.
Bottom line, Recordam proposes a streamlined solution for both capturing audio content and managing the tracks without having to go back and forth to third party apps.
Recordam outputs your recordings using the M4A format, can also import MP3 tracks, allows you to assign tags that integrate with the Finder, and helps you share the audio files with others directly from the app.
