Simple to use and user-oriented OS X virtual Midi note generation utility that makes it easy to create Midi note events using your keyboard

editor's review

Midi Mock is a Midi note generation utility that aims to help you use your Mac’s keyboard to send Midi notes to various hardware and software synthesizers.

Makes it possible to use your Mac as a sound synthesizer either with the help of your keyboard, the mouse or a USB MIDI keyboard

Above all else, the Midi Mock app can be used as a simple way to send custom notes to a synthesizer or as a polyphonic synth tool for playing DLS sounds using the Mac’s keyboard or a MIDI keyboard connected via the USB port.

Aside from the built-in synthesizer, Midi Mock also comes with a set of modulation and pitch bend wheels, a velocity slider and octave transpose buttons, all easily manageable using a mouse and designed to help you customize the app’s output audio signal.

Comes with a built-in "Global Keys" mode designed to help you use it even while Midi Mock is in the background

Furthermore, the Midi Mock tool also features a “Global Keys” toggle button designed to help you use it even when it is not the active application on your Mac’s desktop.

In addition, using your Mac keyboard’s arrow keys, you will be able increase and decrease the audio level (with the right and left keys) and manage the octave transpose level (with the up and down keys).

Minimalist and very easy to use utility for using a Mac's inbuilt synthesizer as an input device for both software and hardware based synth tools

On the whole, the Midi Mock app is a versatile and quite configurable virtual Midi keyboard for the Mac, that can be used either as a Midi note source for various types of audio synthesizers or as a simple tool to play around with your Mac’s built-in internal polyphonic sound synthesizer.
