Uncomplicated audio processing tool that can verify the validity of MPEG files
Initially, MP3 Scan+Repair has been developed to deal only with MPEG 1 Layer III (MP3) files. However, the current version can process and identify corrupt files that have all MPEG versions and layers, such as MPEG-1, 2, 2.5 (Layers I, II, and III), and ID3v1, ID3v2, and APEv2 tags.
Since most audio players do not send error messages when dealing with a corrupted MP3 file, you do not know if you are actually using inconsistent audio tracks. This is no problem for MP3 decoders that are tolerant to inconsistencies, but can lead to serious issues when paying the files in certain apps.
Streamlined verification and correction procedure for MPEG audio files
The MP3 Scan+Repair user interface is represented by a single window where you can easily import the audio files you want to verify with a simple drag and drop action. The app will automatically check the files upon import, and will display the error messages. At the same time, you can also view more detailed information about the files encoding.
All you have to do next is select the files you want to fix and then press the processing button placed in the app’s top toolbar. MP3 Scan+Repair will simply rebuilt the audio and replace the original file.
To conclude, if you are looking for a simple yet efficient software solution that can identify and repair MPEG audio files without too much hustle, MP3 Scan+Repair certainly deserves a try.
