MASSIVE is a competent sound synthesizer designed with only one thing in mind: sound creation. Also, the MASSIVE application specializes in everything from deep and brutal basses to crystalline leads and very rhythmic grooves, while also being capable to generate both digital and analog sounds.

MASSIVE sports an intuitive graphical user interface, so you should be able to get used with its workflow fairly easy, regardless of your musical background.

MASSIVE offers drag and drop support for importing files: via intuitive actions, users can effortlessly drag audio files from their Mac’s desktop. The same rules apply when adding audio samples from the library at their disposal.

Noteworthy is that MASSIVE has a built-in immense library that contains over 1300 sounds recorded by sound designers and popular artists.

Also, the predefined audio effects come in a wide variety of styles. The ultimate goal is to be able to find the exact audio sample you need. MASSIVE also provides support for: 85 predefined wavetables, a modulation oscillator and a noise generator.

The modulation oscillator is used to modify the main sound signal and also for ring modulation and phase modulation. The noise generator provides users with an added signal source that they can easily mix with other sounds in order to create custom audio effects.

MASSIVE comes with 4 envelopes and 4 low-frequency oscillators that have 2 modes: a performer mode, with a large variety of shapes for each sequence step, and a standard sequencer mode. Also, the envelopes enable one to join different transitions and crossfades for the defined loop start and ending.

On the whole, MASSIVE proved to be a versatile audio synthesizer designed to be used by both advanced or beginner sound designers, thanks to its large sound library which can be combined with more than 80 different wave tables.
