Hermes For Mac

Pandora is a music streaming service that features automatic track recommendations, and enables you to listen to music via your web browser. However, to avoid clutter, and to make sure your browser performance is not reduced unnecessarily, you can access the service via Hermes, a small, unobtrusive desktop client for Mac OS X.

To start using the Hermes application, all you have to do is input your Pandora account’s credentials in a app’s small window. Once logged in, finding your way around is fairly intuitive: you get to browse the stations list by name or by date, view your song’s history list, and more.

Hermes comes with a small media player that allows you to play or pause the current song, and enables you to skip the current track. The same area includes buttons for liking or disliking the current track. You have the possibility to put the song on hold: it will not play for a month.

Via the Hermes main window you can also choose to quickly open the artist / track / album page on the Pandora website: this way, you have access to more information about the current song with minimal effort.

Further customization options are included in the Hermes Preferences window: you can choose to control the playback with media keys, you get to adjust the audio quality, and you have the option to quickly set up a proxy.

Hermes offers you the possibility to enjoy the Pandora music streaming service without having to clutter your web browser. Most importantly, the application allows you to control the track’s playback, and enables you to manage your stations, but also includes other useful functions that will improve your overall experience.
