FootPlayer For Mac

FootPlayer offers you the possibility to listen to a large number of radio stations via a clean and user friendly interface that resembles the iTunes design. The app includes the SHOUTcast stations directory, but also comes with additional stations, and allows you to setup your own.

Within the FootPlayer main window the radio stations collection is organized by type (you can see the SHOUTcast trending 500 radio stations, and a list with SHOUTcast random stations), or by genre (80s, 90s, jazz, alternative, rap, folk, ambiental, and so on).

You can start listening to any of the included stations with a simple double click, while the top toolbar allows you to adjust the volume, or to quickly stop the streaming. FootPlayer also includes a minimalist search tool that can be used to find a specific station.

For each radio station you can see the name, number of online listeners, the name of the current track, the bitrate level, and the streaming type (AAC or MP3). In the bottom area of the app’s main window you can create a list with your favorite stations with a simple drag and drop.

The same area allows you to add custom entries to the radio stations collections. Note that FootPlayer will automatically assign the default artwork image, but you get to easily change it through the station’s info panel. Make sure to save the collection in order to preserve the modifications between sessions.

To sum up, FootPlayer proposes a clean user interface and a large collection of radio stations that you can listen to any time you like, without having to register or deal with any settings.

The app can also be used for other radio stations that are streamed online but are not included in the collection: the setup process is highly intuitive, and you can even include custom artwork.
