Complex audio processing suites usually require a lot of system resources and are featuring a complicated workflow. Fission is a small Mac app designed with simplicity in mind, that enables you to perform basic audio editing tasks without too much hustle.

At launch, Fission automatically opens the app’s Manual window where you can learn more about the utility and also includes details about most functions. However, due to its organized design, you should be able to find your way around in no time, without any help.
Simply start by importing the track you want to process via a drag and drop action: Fission is able to work with popular audio formats, such as MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, WAV, FLAC, and AIFF. However, you can also choose to simply convert files between the supported formats: Fission comes with batch processing capabilities, and allows you to adjust the output quality.

On the other hand, Fission can edit a single audio track at a time: after import, the app opens a separate window where you can visualize the audio wave, and general details about the track (size, format, bit rate, sample rate, channels, duration, and location).
Fission provides a simple media player on the bottom of the editing window for listening the audio content, while the top toolbar includes the buttons for accessing the editing tools.
You can use Fission to remove a certain track section, to split the track, to remove and split, or to crop the song to the currently selected portion. Moreover, Fission allows you to apply fade in / out effects, and enables you to normalize the track.
